This is a need based grant that is available to full time and part time students. This grant differs slightly in the fact that your university determines your eligibility for the award based upon your Student Aid Report. The Student Aid Report is a university’s personalized version of the FAFSA. Once again, if you receive the award, the money will be credited directly to your account. In order to qualify for this you must demonstrate an exceptional need for financing. Just because you have received a Federal Pell Grant, that does not mean you will receive the FSEOG.

The third most common university grant is the Academic Competitiveness Grant. You must be a full time student and eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. The other factors that will determine your eligibility include whether or not you are a United States citizen and the date you graduated from high school.
